IPG Blog

Where you can learn about what we’re up to as a small game company.

Art and Artists

I am into an exciting new phase; that of contacting and working with freelance artists!

We will have some spectacular art to show off here in a few weeks, I am sure. Art for the football card game, the fantasy World Guide and first adventure, and the sailing supplement is on the agenda right now. What are those products, you may ask? Stay tuned…

Underway

The RPG side of IPG is now underway. We have a number of projects in the works, most of which will proudly bear the “Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Compatability License” logo.

Much more news in store as products get closer to release. Our goal is to have a free intro PDF product out by the end of August, 2009. Stay tuned!

Getting the Ball Rolling

The IPG team is set to meet next week and officially launch the roleplaying side of this business. We are excited to begin work on a line of fantasy adventures and optional rules compatible (eventually, after August 13th) with the upcoming Pathfinder Roleplaying Game from Paizo Publishing.

On the Third and Long front, a complete rules booklet is now available for playtesters… the next item is to get the Print On Demand sets of playtest cards ASAP. More as this develops…

Stable New Homeworld

Many changes have occured to the website and forum in the last few days. I think I can safely say that the move from one host to another is complete; and I am quite satisfied.

I have been busy backing up all the databases and making save files so we can at least return to these glorious days should something befoul us…

New Web Host

I have switched web hosting companies from FatCow to Rochen.

I am excited as the new host already seems faster… and I hope it is more reliable as well.

The website was down for 2+ days after a FatCow power supply issue in Boston killed my server. That caused something or other to happen to MySQL databases… at any rate, I am now on a different host based in Dallas.

I am still working on the new user login problem.

Yes!

I have finally solved the mystery of the annoyingly mis-aligned forums!

I won’t go into detail about how this was fixed (as it makes me look silly for how easy it ultimately was). At any rate, we’re moving along now, folks.

Soon this site will look quasi-professional… watch out!

Fewf

I think I am done with the 10th or so revision of the Third and Long rulebook text.

Now it’s just a matter of shoving updated pics of the Adobe Illustrator cards in there and then squaring away the cards themselves into Playtest set publishing form.

Soon…

Third and Long

I have been working to tweak the card designs for the football card game. My current plan is to make ~9 Print On Demand sets of these cards for playtesting purposes.

For actual playtesting, I will of course require a completed rulebook. In this regard, I am down to “just” the glossary left (but about half the rulebook is glossary).

I will be laying out the rules in InDesign once the playtest copies are out in the field.

RPGNow and Cards

I got the logos back yesterday. They look great! I have ordered a T-Shirt and coffee mug from CafePress to check out how they look printed on such items.

I sent in the paperwork to create a Non-Exclusive Licensing Agreement with OneBookShelf (the parent company of RPGNow and DriveThruRPG and more). Why non-exclusive, you ask? Because the ultimate goal will be to also sell our products at Paizo.com. (What better place for Pathfider Roleplaying Game Compatible materials?).

I am planning to use a POD company (Superior POD) to produce the playtesting sets of cards for Third and Long. Perhaps this company will make the cards for the sets IPG will sell direct (through the website)… the economics would not work for the sets I hope to sell through regular distribution, however.

Professional Logo

I have been working with “the Logo Company” in making some of my mock-up corporate logo ideas into a polished, refined reality. Should be nearing the end of the interesting back-and-forth refinement process.

Then it’s on to things like making some T-Shirts, coffee mugs, maybe business cards, etc.

I will also be looking at getting the logo trademarked.

A never ending adventure…
