Third and Long reviewed by Ken Bradford in his Blog “Next of Ken”, found on the Fortress AT website. Check out the full review here.
“For football fans, Third and Long is fast, fun, affordable, and completely satisfying to play. Purists may miss some of the elements that ended up being abstracted, and I do wish there were more teams and players to choose from, but this is a solid effort that’s a completely enjoyable and does some creatively cool stuff. If you’re a big fan of the pigskin, it would be silly to pass this up.”

“Overall, I really like this game. The use of star players with different strengths, coupled with the ability to call plays that leverage those strengths is highly desirable in a football simulation. Determining the success of a drive based on a number of key plays is reminiscent of the “highlight reels” on your favorite postgame show. And, for the most part gameplay is smooth and quick, allowing for a satisfying game experience in a relatively short amount of time. Finally, since it’s a card game, it’s highly portable and doesn’t require a lot of set up or tear down.”

“You just can’t help enjoying swinging from chandeliers and bashing people repeatedly with table legs. It goes by quickly in a blur of amusing chaos, and it supports up to ten players – always a good thing to have around in case of emergency! You won’t do a lot of deep thinking, but you’ll probably have a laugh or two. If you’re looking for a new filler game to kill odd bits of time here and there, Knock Down, Drag Out is well worth a try.”
